When I was in the classroom, I started each school year with Nursery Rhymes. They are so much fun! Preschool learners will have a blast with this Preschool Nursery Rhyme Pack.

Nursery Rhyme Preschool Pack

We started off our nursery rhyme theme with Little Miss Muffett. We read the rhyme several times together, and then counted things that were frightening. Hayden compared the numbers and placed a spider counter on the amount that was the largest.

Pat-a-Cake was the next nursery rhyme we worked with. He dug letters out of cloud dough, and matched them on the baking cake recording sheet.

Hayden has been working hard on his writing skills. For this Row, Row, Row Your Boat inspired writing tray, I dyed salt blue and threw in our letter cards. He traced each letter in the salt tray.

We worked on subitizing and counting with boat counters.

Hey Diddle Diddle was one of our favorites! We built a catapult to launch to sight words!

Itsy Bitsy Spiders is one of my personal favorites! We made this spider hat and worked on creating patterns for each of the spider's legs.

We played hide the spider, and took turns guessing which letter the spider was hiding behind.

We did some alphabet practice with Little Boy Blue. He found each letter in the picture, and traced them with dry erase makers.

We played with Humpty Dumpty next!!! I attached the printable to Mega Blocks. He had to match the uppercase letter, lowercase letter, and a picture with that beginning sound to build up Humpty's wall.

Lastly, we read Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Hayden worked on developing number sense by sorting stars.

We ended our nursery rhyme unit with a star name craft!
