Tot School Letter A is for Airplane

I have been pretty much planning how I wanted to Tot School Grayson since he was born! I have always loved doing learning activities with Hayden (4), and now Grayson (18 months) and I get to share this special learning time together!

Tot School is simply learning through PLAY! Toddlers are like little sponges, and they are naturally so curious! Why not spend 20 minutes a day teaching them? It makes my teacher brain so happy to be able to plan and implement these fun learning activities. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing your own child learn new things.

Grayson was 18 months old when we started Tot School. I created these Tot School Plans for toddlers (18 months-3 years) or really any aged child that is ready to learn their colors, shapes, numbers, and letters. Here is a glimpse of our letter A week. For these Tot School plans and printables, you can grab them at my TPT store.

Each week there are 10 activities! 5 activities to practice the letter of the week, and any previously learned letters. Also 5 math activities that focus on shapes, colors, sorting, counting, and number recognition.

For this activity, Grayson sorted objects that were blue, yellow, and white onto train cars.

Grayson, with Hayden's help, drove the train along letter A and numbers 1-3.He did great picking up on letter A, but could care less about the numbers. Everything I do at this age, is JUST for exposure! I don't expect him to master any of these skills quite yet!

Sensory bins are incorporated into each unit. For this bin, Grayson dug through the cotton ball 'clouds' and airplanes to find the letter A.

I was SO impressed when he could sort cars and trains!

Hayden loves to teach Grayson, so he helped him drive the vehicles along the letter A we made with painters tape!

Box ramp! Such a blast for BOTH my boys! They took turns sending vehicles down the ramp, and then read the number it landed on.
This activity was done with a LOT of help from me. We chose a number to put on the cloud, and counted that many airplanes onto the cloud.
Finally, we made a cotton ball letter A craft. This was Grayson's first time with glue, and he LOVED it!
