Christmas Sight Word Practice

Sunday, December 3, 2017
We LOVE Christmas time around here! Holiday themed activities always seem more fun! Hayden has been working so hard on learning his pre-primer sight words, and in another month or so, I think he will have mastered the whole list!!!! We have never used flashcards to practice words, I just feel like there are more FUN ways to practice! However, I found it difficult to find sight word games for his age, so I have been making our own!

Check out some of our Christmas themed pre-primer sight word game! If your child would love these too, they are available in my TPT shop here! And hopefully by the end of the week, I will have our winter themed sight word pack available too!

We played Christmas cookie shop and matched cookie sight words.

Christmas Sight Word Games

This was his FAVORITE! We added a paperclip to the sight words, and he used a magnetic wand to pull them out of the sensory tray.

Trying to sneak in some writing practice with this one!

We placed the sight word cards in the stocking, and he pulled them out! There is also a recording sheet that goes along with this game.

Sight Word Puzzles- Complete each puzzle and read each word.

Dot Sticker Match- I wrote each sight word on dot stickers and he read and matched each word on the wreath.

This was a FUN and fast paced game to practice his sight words.

Roll and Read- Roll the dice and read a picture on that number.

Read and Clip- I wrote a sight word on clothespins and he read each word and clipped it to the tree.
