To supplement our Tot School A-Z Pack each week, I like to create a letter basket for Grayson, with our focus letter. It is a great way to reinforce the letter, as he plays and explores the basket. This is something he asks to do each day, and I love to see him interact with the various toys and books!
Grayson's FAVORITE toy in the basket are these peg stackers. They are perfect for fine motor practice, and also letter recognition.
Another top choice are the Leap Frog Letter Magnets. Both of my boys have loved these, and we actually have two sets! One for the baskets, and one we keep on the fridge. On our fridge set, I add a new letter to the collection each week. It is great practice of all the previous letters.
My boys have always loved cars and trucks. These road letters were the perfect basket addition. You can find these as a free extra in my Tot School A- Z pack, OR they are sold separately in my TPT shop here: Letter Roads.
We LOVE Lakeshore Learning, and I always shop for birthday and Christmas gifts here! We are using the Alphabots from Lakeshore, and also the Alphabet Learning Locks. The locks are neat because if you flip them over, there is a picture with that beginning sound.
These little letter puzzles were from the Target Dollar Bin a few years back! Be on the look out at back to school time, they always have resources like this!!!
The sandpaper letters were something that I created for Hayden when he was this age. I always loved the Montessori Letters. I like this, but wanted to make it myself! I just used a letter stencil on sandpaper! They have such a neat texture.
The other items were odds and ends I found at garage sales and laying around! I am always on the hunt for more items to add! Do you have a favorite alphabet toy for toddlers??
