Fairy Tale Preschool Theme

Saturday, June 12, 2021
This week is all about FAIRY TALES, one of my favorite themes of all time!!!!

We started the week by reading The Three Little Pigs.

Hayden identified each number on the ten frame, blew open the house, and checked his work by looking at the number inside the house. Then he traced it on the tracing mat.

3 Little Pigs Syllable Sort
- Count the syllable in each word and sort it under the correct house.

And we made some unusual houses out of craft materials!

He turned into the big bad wolf and blew several objects across the paper. We used our wolf ruler to measure how far each object went. This led to great conversations about weight and comparing numbers/distances.

Next, we dove into Jack and the Beanstalk!

We did some dot marker counting on the beanstalk.

Magic beans sensory bin. He found each letter and tracing it on the recording sheet.

And a beanstalk number throw and climb!

Hansel and Gretel is such a fun story. We had to pull out some gum drops to play with after reading! First, we made a gingerbread name craft.

Little Red Riding hood I Spy- Find and circle each letter on the checklist.

Crown Patterns- Use gems to create and extend pattern.

Little Red Hen Rhymes- Complete each rhyming puzzle.

Little Red Riding hood Beginning Sounds- Find the way to grandmas house by placing a letter bead on each picture.

Build a Forest- Pick a building card. Count that many trees into the forest.

Little Red Hen Play Dough Shapes- Build each hen shape with play dough.

FREEBIE- Here is a fun shape freebie for you. Shape wands- build a wand out of play dough. Trace each shape with dry erase marker.
