I love a good, predictable activity. Students know what to expect, how to care for the materials, and you spend less time explaining and more time exploring.
Sensory bins are always a hit for my kiddos. Fun fillers are instantly engaging. So I created alphabet bins and numbers bins.
Number bins are a way to practice number sense. Each theme includes numbers 1-20. Each number is represented in 3 ways (number, tally marks, ten frame, finger counting, counting pictures). There are recording pages with a 1-10 option, and a 1-20 option as well. Pick what works best for your kids.
You can use these sets in a variety of ways. The first, place a set of the numbers in a sensory bin. Pull the card, identify the number, and trace it on a recording page.
The cards can be placed around the room for a Count the Room activity.
Change out the sensory bin filler to keep the center fresh and fun. Here are a few favorites.
-kinetic sand
-corn kernels
-gems
-dyed chickpeas
-dyed beans
-paper shred
-jumbo buttons
-pom poms
-ribbons
-jingle bells
You can grab this bundle of number fun in my TPT shop.
