The Leaf Thief Preschool Book Companion

Are you looking for an adorable fall story to use with your preschool class? I absolutely LOVE The Leaf Thief. These centers and activities go along perfectly with the story.

The Leaf Thief

Here is a look inside the pack. There are 5 colored centers, 5 print and play activities, and 3 pages to practice letter L.

Fine Motor Color Sort- Use tongs to sort pom poms by color.

Clip a Pattern- Pick a pattern card. Using the leaves provided, create and extend the pattern.

Fall Counting Mat- Pick a ten frame leaf card. Count the leaves. Build the number in the ten frame, circle the number on the number line, write the number, and show the number with counters on the tree.

The Leaf Thief Pocket Chart Game- Where did the leaf thief go? Which letter is he hiding behind? You students will love practicing letter recognition with this hide and seek game!

Leaf Names-  Write a student's name on each leaf. Say the chant as a class. Have each student find their name.

Paint a Pattern- Use paint, dot stickers, or dot markers to create a fall pattern.

Shape Sticker Sort-  Sort sticker shapes onto each shape tree.

Alphabet Tree-  Write letters A-Z on dot stickers. Stick them on the matching letter on the tree.

Snip a Fall Tree -Practice scissor skills as you snip leaves and paste them onto the fall tree.

Fall Leaf Counting - Dip a Q-tip in paint and count leaves onto each tree. Numbers 1-12 are included.
