Shape Focus- Star
Color Focus- Yellow & Blue
This week we were learning about Space! With Grayson, we were focused on learning about the shape of a star, and the colors blue and yellow. Here are some of the activities we did!
We love Jumbo Buttons- and use them for all sorts of activities! Although they are jumbo, I still watch VERY closely to make sure they don't end up in his mouth! I used an empty yogurt container, and cut slits in the top. Grayson would shove the stars into the container.
Contact paper sticky star - I drew a big star, and cut it out of contact paper. I placed it into a frame (from the Dollar Tree), and let Grayson add yellow tissue paper to the star.
Catch a Star- I cut yellow and blue stars from foam sheets. I attached a magnet on the back, and handed Grayson a magnetic wand. I let him 'catch' each star, and I would name the color as he picked it up!
Yellow Star Sensory Play- This was his first sensory bin, and it was a HIT! I got this yellow crinkle paper from the dollar tree, and I hid our jumbo buttons in the bin. He dumped it, scooped it, stomped on it, sat in it, and found the stars!
Star Squish Bag- I added hair gel and star confetti to a Ziploc bag, and taped it to a window. BOTH of my boys loved walking past this and squishing the stars around.
Moon Rocks- I used the jumbo star buttons again, and wrapped them in tin foil. I was hoping he would unwrap them, but he preferred to transfer them from bowl to bowl.
Contact Paper Earth- I cut contact paper into a circle, and used double sided tape to put it onto our window. I gave Grayson green and blue tissue paper, and he stuck it onto the 'Earth'.
Mess Free Sun Painting- I cut a circle from construction paper, added a squirt of yellow and orange paint, placed it onto a cookie sheet, and covered it in saran wrap . BOTH boys loved playing with this, and creating a 'sun'. Best part- EASY clean up!!!
