Grayson (21 months) worked on exploring the shape of a circle this week. We had a lot of fun with these SUPER simple circle activities!

First, I gathered a bunch of circle lids, in various colors. I traced each lid with a different color marker. Grayson worked on matching the lid by size and color to its place on the paper. We talked about the different sizes and colors of the lids.
This was the fan favorite. We used cotton pads from the Dollar Tree, liquid watercolors, and pipettes. Grayson, and Hayden explored color mixing by squirting the colors onto the cotton pads. I love using a popsicle mold to hold the liquid watercolors.
Grayson was a bit young for this still, but did try. I used our jumbo circle buttons, and Grayson tried to string them onto to pipe cleaner. He couldn't quite do this yet, but he loved pulling them OFF the pipe cleaner.
Googly eyes, one of my favorite supplies. We worked on 1:1 correspondence. He placed an eye in each circle on the page. If he was a bit older, I would have had him practiced gluing them down.
Lastly, we worked on a sticky contact paper collage. This frame is from the Dollar Tree, and I just added some contact paper. Grayson loved sticking the circles on, and pulling them off.
What activities do you like to do, when teaching your toddler about shapes? We have a bunch of fun activities planned for squares next week! Stay tuned!
