Halloween Preschool Theme

Halloween is our favorite holiday, right after Christmas. I am excited to show you all of the fun preschool Halloween activities we have planned. These plans and printables can be found in my TPT shop, in my Halloween Preschool Pack.

Halloween Preschool Pack

Here is a peek inside the Preschool Pack!

Letter Match- Match the letters on each candy bucket. We love using Learning Resources Lacing Alphabet.

Candy Measurement- Use candy corn to measure the length of each candy.

Halloween Tinker Tray- If you haven't tried a tinker tray before, you're missing out. I LOVE watching what my boys create. I always put in themed loose parts (mini erasers, figures), popsicle sticks, and plastic shot glasses.

Alphabet Hunt- The base of this bin is dyed beans. Place the alphabet pumpkins in the sensory bin. Find and trace each letter.

Pumpkin Name Craft- Name crafts are always a blast for preschoolers! Have your students write their name on pumpkins, and glue in order on the fence.

Spider Art- Attach a piece of yarn to a plastic spider. Dip the yarn in paint, and drag across the paper. I just love how this turned out!

Pumpkin Squish Bag Letter Tracing- Draw a pumpkin on a Ziplock bag. Fill it with orange paint and seal it tight!! Tape the bag to a tray or table. Pick a letter card, and trace each letter on the squish bag.

Halloween Sensory Play- Halloween is one of my favorite themes because there are SO MANY FUN goodies at the Dollar Tree and Target Dollar Spot. I threw them all in this bin, with dyed beans as the base.

Halloween Subitizing- Pick a number card. Find the number on the game board and cover with a counter.

Halloween Clip a Sound- Use clothespins to clip the beginning sound for each picture.

Stamp a CVC word- Use stamps or stickers to build a word.

Hidden Words- Write a letter, sight word, or number on each ghost with white crayon. Color  the ghost with markers to reveal the mystery letter/word.

Rhyming Candy Corn Puzzles- Find the rhyming words to build each puzzle.

Fine Motor Balance- This was super fun and required a LOT of concentration. I placed golf tees on a Styrofoam block. Grayson worked to balance each eye ball on the golf tees.

Halloween Fine Motor Color Match- Match beads to each fingernail.

Fizzy Cauldrons- Baking soda and vinegar are the best!!!

Pumpkin Prints- We dipped a pumpkin cookie cutter in black paint and made prints. When it was dry, we painted with watercolors.

Fizzy Ghosts- We love fizzy ANYTHING. I made the ghosts with baking soda and a touch of water. Mix and plop them on a tray to look like ghosts! :) Add vinegar and watch them fizz.

Pool Noodle Pumpkins
- Dip a pool noodle in orange paint! It makes the cutest pumpkin prints. Use fingerpaint to make the stem.

Tape Mummy
- Do your kids love tape as much as mine? We practice cutting pieces of tape as we made a mummy!

Cotton Ball Ghosts-  Tear and glue cotton balls to make a fluffy ghost!

And there are SO MANY other activities. When I finished this pack, there were 24 activities. Many activities can be easily differentiated for various abilities. I try to include multiple versions of an activity when possible (for example, sight word version and a letter version).

And here is a super fun, Halloween themed, freebie! Just use googly eyes to count eyes onto the playing mat. If you give this a try, I would love to see it in action! Tag us on Instagram @michele_dillon
