Middle Sound Caterpillar Sort- Identify the middle sound of each CVC word and place it on the correct caterpillar! You can use Velcro dots to secure each circle. Write each word on the recording page.
Spin and Spell CVC- Spin the spinner. What is the word? Write the word with dry erase marker, or build it using letter tiles or beads.
Build a Sentence- Group the word cards by picture. Then, build a sentence! Write the sentence on the recording page.
Sight Word Stamp- Use alphabet stamps to stamp each sight word. There is a page that focuses on pre-primer words and a page for primer words.
Digraph Puzzles- Identify each picture. What is the beginning digraph? Match it to make a butterfly!
Spin and Blend- Use spinners to spin an onset and rime. Blend the sounds to make a word. Is the word real or nonsense?
Phoneme Segmentation- Place a play doh ball, magnetic chip, or counter on each flower. Touch each flower as you say each sound. Run your finger along the arrow to blend the sounds, saying the CVC word.
Sight Word Dominos- Make a domino path by matching words that are the same. There are 2 versions of this game, one with pre-primer words and one with primer words.
Sight Word Egg Puzzles- Complete each puzzle by matching the eggs. Pre-primer and primer words are both included.
Egg Hunt- Place the sight word eggs around the room. Go on a hunt for the eggs. As each egg is found and read, cross it off the list!
