Earth Day Preschool Theme

Are you ready for Earth Day?! My boys have always enjoyed learning about helping our Earth. I hope your students will enjoy these math, literacy, and writing themed Earth Day ideas!
These Earth Day ideas are from my Earth Day Preschool Pack! You can grab it in my TPT shop!

First we made a watercolor Earth. We used black glue (I just added some black liquid watercolor to our regular glue) to outline the Earth. Then we painted! We talked about how Earth is mostly made up of water.

We love working on patterns! We extended these patterns with pom poms.

Green gems from the Dollar Store worked perfectly with these recycling ten frame cards.

For this writing activity, your child will identify the letter on the Earth. Trace it with dry erase marker (top) and then write the letter (bottom).

Color by code was something new for Hayden. These codes are all letters!

This was a fan favorite! What child doesn't love using scissors and glue?! We went though our recycling to find letters. Hayden cut and pasted them on the matching letter on the recording page.

Hayden worked on counting on with these number puzzles.

If you have a little one, use the Earth printable (from the painting activity) for some contact paper and tissue paper fun!

How cute are these little recycling bins? I always see them at Dollar Tree this time of year! The boys picked up the trash (milk lids) and placed them into the recycling bins.

We made a collage tree with different shades of green paper.

One of my FAVE stories is The Lorax!!! Hayden rolled the dice, and then plated that many trees! We used balls of play dough to keep the trees in place!

Both of my boys couldn't wait to dig into this bin! Color sorting the trash!

Clean up the Earth rhyming game. Hide the rhyme cards around the room. Clean up the room, by gathering the cards and matching them to the Earth that rhymes.

Count and Dot- Use dot markers or stickers to count and dot. There is also a 1-6 counting sheet in the pack.

Shape Pick and Cover- Pick a shape Earth card and cover the matching shape. There is also a tracing recording page.

Tracing Lines- Use  a dry erase marker to trace each line.

And as always, a name craft! You can write each student's name on the recycling bin. They will write one letter from their name on each water bottle. Cut, glue, and spell out each name!

Beginning Sound Pick Up- Place the trash pieces in a sensory bin or around the room. Pick them up, identify the beginning sound, and trace it on the recording page.

This was my favorite project. We dipped yarn in glue and created continents. After the glue dried, we painted the continents and oceans.

I hope your students enjoy this pack as much as we did! Here is the link to the pack in my shop!
