My kiddos love learning about animals, so they inspired this theme pack! This preschool pack is full of math, literacy, and writing centers for a Nocturnal Animal Theme. You can purchase this pack in my TPT shop. Here are just a few of the activities that are included in this pack.
Nocturnal Animals Preschool Theme
Owl Beginning Sounds- Identify the beginning sound of each picture. Write the letter, or place a letter tile/bead next to the picture.
Roll and Feed the Mouse- This activity combines counting and fine motor practice. Roll a dice and use tongs to count that many pom poms (food) into the mouth of the mouse.
Count and Link- Here is another fine motor activity! Count the owls on each card, and use a linking shape to link it to another card that has the same amount of owls.
Letters at Night- Pick a letter card out of the sensory bin. Trace the letter on the recording page.
Smash a Sound- Create each letter with play dough. Then, smash a play dough ball over two pictures that have that beginning sound.
Firefly Patterns- Extend each pattern with pom poms.
Spider Writing Tray- Trace each letter in a writing tray of colored salt.
Owl Shapes- Pick an owl shape card out of a sensory bin of beans. Identify a shape and trace it on the recording page.
Tracing Lines- Use a dry erase marker to trace each line.
Build a Letter- Use popsicle sticks to build each letter. Then, trace each letter with dry erase marker.
Flip and Build- Pick a owl number card. Build that number on the ten frame.
Counting Fireflies- Complete each puzzle by counting the fireflies and matching it to the correct number.
