 The Watermelon Seed Book Companion

We love book based learning ideas, and this book is adorable! I hope your little ones have a blast with these watermelon themed centers and activities.

The Watermelon Seed Book Companion

Excavate and Count- Work on fine motor skills as you use tweezers to pull seeds (beads/buttons) from the watermelon (play dough). Use the counting mat to count and sort your seeds.

Counting Seeds- Use beads or buttons to count seeds 1-10.

Letter Tracing Mini Book- Trace and write each letter with this mini book.

Alphabet Sensory Bin- I love a good sensory bin and this is perfect for a watermelon theme. It is just dyed beans and black pom poms. Add in letters and pull and record each letter.

Watermelon Number Sense- Cover the correct representations of each number on each number card.

Feed and Read- Feed the alligator the alphabet seeds. Read each letter.

Roll and Color-
Roll a dice. Color the watermelon with the same number of dots.

Count and Dot- Use a q-tip dipped in black paint to count and dot 'seeds' onto each watermelon.

Roll and Count- Roll a dice. Count seeds (black pom poms) onto the watermelon.

Watermelon Beginning Sound Puzzles-  Complete each puzzle by matching the picture to the correct beginning sound.

There are also a few pages to practice the letter W!
