Bugs Preschool Math Mats
These low prep and engaging math mats are perfect for a bug theme in preschool. Each activity is just ONE page, so print, laminate, and play! Use these for centers, small groups, or independent practice.
Snail Counting- Find numbers in the sensory bin and match them to the correct picture.
Worm Color Sort- Sort pom poms, beads, or buttons on the correct color of worm.
Bee Counting- One More, One Less- Roll a number and show the number with beads or counters. Use the number line to show and write the numbers that are one more and one less.
Butterfly Race- Take turns spinning the spinner and moving along the number line. The first player to ten, wins.
Find and Trace- Find and trace each number on the list.
Bug Save and Sort- Rescue each bug, and then sort by attribute.
Build a Shape- Use pipe cleaners and play dough to build each shape.
Caterpillar Comparisons- Roll 2 dice and build the number on the caterpillar. Compare the numbers.
Pattern Path- Create a pattern along the pathway.
Ladybug Counting- Place a domino on the playing mat. Build the number in the ten frame, write the number, and then circle the number.
Bee Spin and Cover- Spin the spinner and cover a picture that represents the number.
