This hibernation preschool circle time pack is full of chants and rhymes, questions of the day, movement sticks, and mini lessons to go along with read alouds. This pack will make your planning for your hibernation theme a breeze!
Hibernation Preschool Circle Time
Groundhog Letters- Say the rhyme as a class. Pick a groundhog letter card. Say the letter name, and the sound the letter makes.
Hedgehog Numbers-
Give each child a hedgehog number card. Say the rhyme as a class. Have the children stand up as you say each number.
Brown Bear Syllables-
Say the rhyme as a class. Pick a syllable card. Say the word and clap or stomp the syllables in the word.
Frog Shapes-
Place the shape cards in a pocket chart. Hide the frog behind one of the shape cards. Say the rhyme as a class. Guess where the frog is hiding.
Questions of the Day-
There are 5 hibernation themed, questions of the day.
Mini Lessons- There are 5 hibernation themed mini lessons to go along with a read aloud book.
Animals in Winter- Read aloud the book, Animals in Winter. Complete the animal sort as a class. Then, discuss where each animal hibernates. Use a pocket chart, or magnetic board, to help each animal find a place to hibernate.
Hush Up and Hibernate-
Read the book, Hush Up and Hibernate. Discuss with the class if they would like to hibernate all winter. Why or why not? Have each child finish the sentence stem and draw a picture. Then, using loose parts, build a bear den for a bear.
Hibernation Station-
Read aloud the book, Hibernation Station as a class. Work together to build an animal train by placing the numbers in order (1-20 are included). Then, have students work with partners to play the train game.
Bear Snores On-
Read aloud the book, Bear Snores On. Use the picture cards to retell the story. Then, complete the bear directed drawing. Tear and glue paper to make a den for the bear.Hibernation Preschool Circle Time
