Read and Play- All About Me

 I am excited for this new series: Read and Play. When I used to plan activities for my boys, a lot of times we used a great book to inspire our playful learning activities.

 

 

Have you read the book, Crazy Hair Day by Barney Saltzberg? It is super cute, and inspired a few activities! 

After reading the story, make your own crazy hair. Start by drawing a face. Then add a few squirts of liquid watercolors. Use a straw to blow the liquid watercolors and make CRAZY hair. 

I just love how these turned out! Each face is so unique! 

Then we worked on prewriting with this butcher paper activity. Pick a type of line and add that type of hair to each face! You could also modify this to add a certain number of hair to each head.
