Kindergarten Halloween Math and Literacy Centers

Are you looking for fun and engaging math and literacy centers for October? This pack includes 5 math and 5 literacy centers that your kindergarten students will love. Each center has a worksheet or recording page to go along with it.


Halloween Kindergarten Math and Literacy Centers


Make Ten
- Roll and dice and move around the game board. Show the number on the ten frame. Find the missing addend to make 10.


Count and Build- Identify each number (numeral, ten frame, tally marks, counting picture). Show the number with blocks, themed manipulatives, or mini erasers.



Domino Sort
- Sort dominos on playing mats numbers 1-12.


Count, Link, and Compare- Count the pictures. Link linking shapes below to represent the number. Compare amounts.



Count and Feed-
 Pick a counting picture cards (1-10). Count the objects. Feed the bat or pumpkin that many counters. Trace the numbers on the recording page.



Spooky Letters or Sounds - Pick a letter card or beginning sounds card. Identify the letter or sound. Cover that letter with a counter, or smash a play dough ball on the letter.





CVC Word Races- This game is for 2 players. Each player needs a counter. Take turns flipping over a card. Read the word. If it is a real word, move on space on the game board. If it is a nonsense word, stay at that pumpkin until your next turn. There is an optional recording page to use, if you’d like.



Count and Stack Syllables
- Say each Halloween word. Clap the syllables in the word. Build a tower with that many cubes. Write the number of syllables in the word.



Mystery CVC Words- Identify the beginning sound of each picture. Write the letter with dry erase marker, or use magnetic letters. Spell each mystery CVC word.



Feed Me Ending SoundsDo the pictures have the same ending sounds? If they do, feed the Frankenstein. If they don't feed the mummy.
