Fall Preschool Lesson Plans and Art Ideas

Thursday, May 21, 2026

If you're getting ready for a fall theme, I have a set of preschool lesson plans and hands-on activities that will make planning incredibly easy. These resources are designed to help children explore math and literacy concepts through playful learning.

Grab it below:

Here is what our half-day preschool looks like!

I always start my day with table time! My students come in the room and there are 6-7 options to choose from. Students rotate freely through activities that hit on literacy, math, and fine motor skills.

Then we have our morning meeting. This is a very quick time of day where we do calendar, and quickly review our focus letter, number, shape, and color.

We always do an art activity related to our theme! Here are some fun farm art projects!

Bubble Wrap Prints: This simple art activity is always a hit. Paint a piece of bubble wrap and print onto your template.

TP Tube Leaf Prints: Smash a toilet paper tube to look like a leaf. Dip in paint and make a fall tree!

Cork Fall Trees: I always love when I can incorporate their sweet little handprints into art activities. We made handprints for our tree. Then, we used corks to paint fall leaves.

Spin Art Leaves: Kids LOVE spin art! We use a salad spinner and small squirt bottles of paint. It is ALWAYS a hit.

Color Diffusing Leaves:
You can use a coffee filter or paper towels cut in the shape of leaves. But the easiest is to order color diffusing leaves from Amazon. Squirt with liquid watercolors and they turn out gorgeous.

Then we have circle time. We have a themed read aloud, say rhymes/chants from my circle time packs, and do literacy or math lessons.

We wrap up our day with centers and recess!

I hope this will help your planning!
