Lets dive into some ocean themed FUN! This ocean preschool pack has a TON of play based learning activities and centers for preschool, PreK, and kindergarten students.
These activities are from my Ocean Preschool Pack in my TPT shop.
Here is a peek inside the pack!
Shark Ten Frames- Build each number with play dough, smash play dough balls onto the ten frame, and trace the number. I thought it would be fun to add triangle pattern blocks to count the tally mark teeth too!
Oyster and Pearl Rhymes- I attached a Velcro dot to each oyster. Just match the rhyming words!
Seashell ABCs- Match each letter using letter tiles or beads. OR write letters on seashells to match!
Shark Counting Tray- Pull out a shark card and count the sharks. Trace the number on the recording page.
Ocean Counting/ Addition- Roll a dice and count objects on the playing mat. OR Roll two dice and add that many shells to the counting mat.
Fish Name Craft- Have your students practice writing their name, or ordering the letters in their name.
Syllable Count- Pick a playing card. How many syllables are in the word? Move that many spaces on the game board.
Sandy Letters- Trace each letter with glue. Sprinkle sand on top of the glue! These sensory letters are sure to be a HIT! OR fill each letter with loose parts or play dough.
Play Dough Shape Mats- Roll play dough into snakes. Outline each shape in play dough.
Ocean Patterns- Use dot markers, dot stickers, or gems to create and extend patterns.
Fish Graphing- Count and total each color of fish. Graph the results.
Mermaid Bubble Counting- Count blue pom poms, or gems, on each bubble.
Beginning Sound Puzzles- Match each animal to the correct beginning sound.
Shark Grab- Make the sharks magnetic, by attaching a paper clip. Use the magnetic wand to pick a shark. Trace the letter on the recording page. Add blue beans, gems, or water, as a bin filler.
Jellyfish Fine Motor Counting- Attach pipe cleaners to the jellyfish. String that many beads onto each tentacle.
Exploring the Ocean- Give your students time to examine, draw, and explore ocean treasures. We love using our Learning Resources science tools to help us explore.
Ocean Play Dough Tray- These seashell eggs (from Dollar Tree at Easter), mini figures, and play dough led to lots of creating and open ended play!
Jellyfish Art- We used bleeding tissue paper for the body. Just layer the tissue paper and then spray with water. Then, we practiced scissor skills as we cut crepe paper.
Octopus Counting- Count dot stickers onto each tentacle. This is easy to adapt if you want your kiddo to work on addition!
