Comparing Numbers Preschool and Kindergarten Math- Beach

This math preschool activity pack focuses on comparing numbers with a fun, beach theme! Use these activities in circle time, small groups, centers, and/or for independent practice.

Whole Group/ Circle Time- Make a number line with the crab number cards. Roll a dice and have a child crab crawl to the number. Repeat with another student. Compare how far they crawled. Who went further? Which number is bigger?

Small Groups/ Center Time- Use black beans to count and compare watermelon seeds.

Small Groups/ Center Time- Pick a beach counting card. Count the seashells in the picture. Count LESS seashells onto the playing mat. Write the number with dry erase marker.

Center Time/ Independent Practice- Use dot makers or dot stickers to count and compare ice cream scoops.

Center Time/ Independent Practice- Roll 2 dice. Dip a Q-Tip in red paint and dot that many crabs onto each beach. Write the numbers and compare.
