Farm Preschool Lesson Plans and Art Ideas

If you're getting ready for a farm theme, I have a set of preschool lesson plans and hands-on activities that will make planning incredibly easy. These resources are designed to help children explore math and literacy concepts through playful learning.

Grab it below:

Farm Preschool Lesson Plans

Here is what our half-day preschool looks like!

I always start my day with table time! My students come in the room and there are 6-7 options to choose from. Students rotate freely through activities that hit on literacy, math, and fine motor skills.

Then we have our morning meeting. This is a very quick time of day where we do calendar, and quickly review our focus letter, number, shape, and color.

We always do an art activity related to our theme! Here are some fun farm art projects!

Tractor Painting: This simple art activity is always a hit. Dip a tractor in paint and make tracks!

Muddy Pig Painting:
This art activity is a sensory experience! Mix coffee grounds, glue, and a dab of brown paint! Paint the pig!

Paper Plate Chickens:
To start, paint a paper plate with a fork. Then fold the paper plate in half. Trace handprints for the wings, and add eyes and a beak!

Toilet Paper Tub Sheep:
To make this adorable sheep we dipped a toilet paper tube in black paint to make a body. When it was dry, we added a head, eyes, and legs.

Pigs Directed Drawing: I absolutely love how directed drawings turn out! We first made a muddy background with some textured sponges and brown paint. Then we completed the directed drawing.

Then we have circle time. We have a themed read aloud, say rhymes/chants from my circle time packs, and do literacy or math lessons.

We wrap up our day with centers and recess!

I hope this will help your planning!
